Akufo-Addo’s nephew at Forbes Africa behind his Uncle’s “African of the Year” award? 56

Social media was thrown into frenzy When Forbes African unveiled President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo “African of the Year” purportedly for being the most impactful individual on the Africa continent.

The announcement came at a time when there’s a general outcry over hardship in the country leaving many Ghanaians wonder if the honour done the President was deservedly so.

In its December 2021-January 2022 edition which is said to be available on sale, the magazine featured Ghana’s President, naming him African Of The Year but an interesting revelation has been made by one General Marcus since the award.

According to General Marcus, he placed a phone call to Forbes USA and Forbes Africa to determine the validity of the award. While Forbes US denied knowledge of the Award, Forbes Africa was tight-lipped.

“I just spoke with Forbes USA on 1-800-295-0893; they have no knowledge of an award for any African leader. I also called Forbes Africa on 1212-500-1883 to ascertain the validity of their award and the mode by which Akuffo Addo was selected. However, the guy who picked the call was not willing to discuss with me the mode of the award nor Akuffo Addo; he flatly hanged the phone on me at the mention of Akufo-Addo. In effect, Akuffo Addo’s African Man of the year award is shrouded in mystery;” he posted on his twitter page

General Marcus also made an interesting revelation about President Akufo-Addo’s blood relation by name Martin Asare who works with Forbes Africa in South Africa

‘it’s either a hoax or he bought it through his nephew Martin Asare. The law school he attended is shrouded in mystery; his law certificate is shrouded in mystery; his marriage to Rebecca is shrouded in mystery; his presidential inaugural speech is shrouded in mystery;”

According to General Marcus, Martin Asare-Amankwa a nephew to the President who is an executive producers with Forbes Africa could have pulled the strings leading to his uncle’s recognition.
