Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia mourns Apostle Kwadwo Safo Kantanka

President John Dramani Mahama’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed deep sadness over the death of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission and a pioneering Ghanaian innovator.

In a moving message, Dr. Bawumia described Apostle Safo as more than a religious leader, commending him for his groundbreaking contributions to indigenous innovation and his relentless efforts to inspire an industrial mindset among Ghanaians.

“Apostle Safo served Ghana beyond the capacity of a religious leader. He pioneered indigenous innovations and forcefully inspired an industrial spirit amongst Ghanaians,” Dr. Bawumia said. He further noted that the Apostle’s countless philanthropic acts touched the lives of many, particularly the less privileged.

Sharing his personal reflections, the Vice President recalled the Apostle’s warmth and wisdom. “As a religious leader, his open arms received me. Anytime I called on him, I departed his presence with lasting words of encouragement and wisdom,” he added.

On behalf of his family, Dr. Bawumia extended heartfelt condolences to Apostle Safo’s family, the Kristo Asafo Mission, and all Ghanaians mourning the loss of the man widely regarded as “The Star of Africa.”

“May his legacy continue to endure and inspire future generations to believe in our domestic solutions, serve their communities, and put Ghana first,” Bawumia concluded.
