FrimpongThe Berekum circuit court has today Thursday 30th April, 2020 remanded 10 Togolese Nationals for entering Ghana illegally.
His Honour Osei Kofi Amoako who presided over the court remanded them for 14 days to be isolated and tested by the Ghana Health Service Officials before any action can be taken against them.
Among the 10 people who have been arrested are 8 males and 2 female.
They are to reapear before court on 14 of May, 2020.
According to the police prosecutor Chief Kwakye, their motive of using the unapproved route was to pass through from Jake in Cote d’vior to Sampa in the Bono Region and to travel to Tatale of the Northern Region to continue their journey to Togo.
They were arrested by the Sampa Immigration Service and handed them over to the police in the town.
They were arrested on 27th April, 2020 at Sampa but managed to escape the arrest to Wenchi upon which the police rerested them to appear before court.
