Ghana’s dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr, Shatta Wale has made an ardent call on the Food and Drugs Authority-FDA to place a ban on kids from drinking alcohol.
Speaking in an interview with Mzgee on 3FM’s Showbiz, Shatta Wale shared his opinion on the fact that placing a ban on kids from drinking will go a long way to benefit the country than to rather ban celebrities from advertising for alcohol products.
His statements come after his initial call on fellow musicians to take to the streets and protest against the FDA.
Further detailing his statements in the interview he added “The decision [FDA has] taken will affect not only the celebrities,” but business people too who have invested a lot of money into the production of alcoholic beverages will also be affected”.
The’Melissa’ crooner more to that said “they think they are killing us but they are killing the companies,” who also sponsor events in Ghana.
Closing in during the talk, he advised the FDA and other authorities involved to implement laws such as the use of ID cards to purchase an alcoholic drink, this he thinks will deter kids from buying or drinking.
