Diella TekuEquatorial Guinea’s anti-financial crime chief, Baltasar Ebang Engonga, is facing intense scrutiny after a corruption investigation led to the discovery and subsequent leak of explicit personal videos.
Ebang, head of the National Agency for Financial Investigation (ANIF), had initially been detained for alleged corruption, but investigators found over 300 explicit recordings on his personal devices, revealing encounters with various women, including the spouse of the Presidential security head and even his own brother’s wife.
The videos were reportedly recorded in multiple locations, including his office, hotels, and other public spaces, raising questions about his conduct in professional and private settings. The footage was later leaked, igniting a national scandal and sparking heated public debate about the ethical standards of high-ranking officials.
The revelations are particularly incendiary given Ebang’s prominent public role and his personal life—he is married and a father of six.
The incident has amplified calls for accountability and transparency within Equatorial Guinea’s political elite. With public interest intensifying, authorities face growing pressure to address both the corruption and the personal misconduct revealed by this shocking case.
