AdubianewsA Ghanaian man who recently travelled to the United Kingdom has made headlines after revealing he has no plans to return. The man, who was on a two-week work leave, said his short experience in the UK made him realise that life in Ghana is far better.
He shared that he worked as a contractor in Ghana before spending £14,000 on a visa in December 2023 with hopes of securing a high-paying job abroad. However, his dreams quickly faded when reality hit.
According to him, the cost of living in the UK was overwhelming, making it almost impossible to save money. He said he struggled to even set aside £200 a month despite working hard and cutting expenses.
The man admitted that the working conditions, expenses, and daily life in the UK were not as glamorous as he had imagined. He added that, in comparison, he had more control over his finances and comfort while living and working in Ghana.
With his leave nearing its end, he announced his decision to remain in Ghana permanently, stating that he has no intention of returning to the UK. His story adds to growing conversations about the realities many Ghanaians face when they relocate abroad.
