Controversial Ghanaian media personality and comedian Afia Schwarzenegger, based in the United States, has made headlines after allegedly reporting several Ghanaian TV stations to American filmmaker Tyler Perry for broadcasting his latest movie, Straw, without authorization.

In a post shared on her social media platforms, Afia Schwarzenegger, known in real life as Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, revealed that she reached out to Tyler Perry via Instagram direct message. She began by praising the critically acclaimed Netflix film, commending Perry for its powerful storytelling. However, her message took a serious turn as she informed him that a local television station in Ghana had aired the movie illegally.

Afia described the act as blatant piracy and noted that the station had neither sought permission nor secured a license to broadcast the film. Her move has sparked mixed reactions online, with some applauding her for standing up against intellectual property theft, while others questioned her motivations.

The incident highlights the ongoing challenge of media piracy in Ghana and across Africa, raising concerns about the enforcement of copyright laws and the need for stronger regulatory measures to protect creative works.
