Firebrand New Patriotic Party (NPP) member of parliament for Assin Central, Honorable Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has spoken boldly concerning President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s appointment of Deputy Ministerial positions on Adom FM’s show on Saturday, June 12, 2021 saying that he has truths he can’t keep to himself.
Honorable Ken Agyapong speaking on the show, strongly disagrees with all members of the governing New Patriotic Party who are against President Nana Akuffo-Addo’s appointment of MPs who either lost their seats or performed poorly in the last general elections on December 7, 2020 as Deputy Ministers.
According to the loudmouth lawmaker, the reason why some of these ministers lost their seats is due to difficult circumstances probably beyond their control. He said that it is not necessarily the fact that they have not performed well in office.
“Some of these members of parliament I am talking about are very competent and hardworking. I am sure they lost their seats due to difficult situations. So I see no reason why such appointees shouldn’t get ministerial positions in President Akuffo-Addo’s current government?” Hon. Ken Agyapong quizzed.
He further noted that these are some of the reasons why he advices MPs not to accept offers but concentrate on their parliamentary work. This is because constituents would begin to demand much from you immediately they realize that you are appointed as a minister.
“I would not keep quiet about all these stuffs. Sometimes, you have to be wise enough to make wise decisions. I advise that President Nana Akuffo-Addo appoints some of these competent appointees to occupy the Deputy Ministerial postions,” Ken Agyapong boldly speaks.
