Latifah Bumaye, a key suspect in the Kafaba lynching incident, says she was under a spell and didn’t know she was whipping someone to death.
The 25-year-old lady who was captured in the viral video holding a rob and beating the 90-year-old Akua Denteh told police investigators she was possessed and didn’t know what she was doing.
Latifa narrating circumstances which led to the torture of Madam Denteh, she said before the incident, some men accosted her forcefully and smeared a powdery substance on her face
The effects of that substance, she believes led to her joining residents of Kafaba in the Savannah region, to torture the deceased she identified as her grandmother to death.
According to her, she came back to her senses after the video went viral and made its way to national TV.
Latifah was arrested at Kejewu Bator, a fishing community near Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality.
