Kate Gyamfua Surprises Single Mother And Sick Child With GHC5K On Her Birthday. 49

The National Women Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Kate Gyamfua, has presented GHC5000 and five full pieces of cloth among other items to Mariama Isaka and her sick child at Adenta today. The donation is part of activities to mark Ms Gyamfua’s birthday anniversary.

Today April 1, marks the birthday of the NPP National Women Organiser. The donation is to help the mother of the sick child whose husband has run away due to the child’s condition to seek medical attention for the child and also start a trade.

Ms Isaka’s child, a year and eight months young boy, is unable to sit, talk nor behave normally like other children. According to the woman, a strange sickness was detected in the eyes of the boy when he was only one month old. She explains that doctors say a disease affected the brain of the child which has gone on to affect the whole body.
Doctors at the 37 hospital say the boy can recover and be able to walk and speak but needs to go through a laborious medical exercise which comes with huge cost to the parent.

Kill him or I run

According to the mother, at the initial stages of the sickness, the husband gave her the ultimatum to kill the boy or have the marriage ended. The man thus left them to an unknown destination due to her decision not to kill the boy or consent to his murder.

Living in a dilapidated wooden structure at Adenta, the woman who is now unable to work due to the child’s condition has been struggling to raise money for the boy’s treatment. Her predicament came before the NPP women organiser through Oman FM’s Asabea Kropa. Ms Gyamfua decided therefore to go the aid of the family as her a way of celebrating her birthday today.

Appreciation

Okaikoe North Women Organiser of the NPP, Akosua Kwakyewaa, today presented the GHC5000, five full pieces of cloth and other items to Ms Isaka on behalf of the NPP National Women Organiser. Ms Isaka, who could not control her tears, expressed appreciation to Ms Gyamfua for the kind gesture.
She promised to take the boy back to the hospital for the medical exercise to begin as soon as possible.
