The disciplinary committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has banned Mariano Barreto, head coach of Asante Kotoko from the team’s next two games over an act of misconduct.
The suspension is in relation to allegations made against some referees by Barreto after Kotoko played against Legon Cities FC. The committee said the coach could not substantiate his allegation, adding his statement was misconstrued. He also pleaded not guilty.
The committee also imposed a fine of GHC3,000 on Barreto.
Meanwhile, a player of Kotoko, Emmanuel Gyamfi, has also been handed a one-match ban and fined GHC1,000 for misconduct in the same match.
