Kuami Eugene speaks during Hitz FM interview about leaving Lynx Entertainment

Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat sensation Kuami Eugene, born Eugene Kwame Marfo, has finally opened up about his departure from his long-time record label, Lynx Entertainment, headed by Richie Mensah.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, the award-winning musician addressed the circumstances surrounding his exit and clarified that it was not a bitter split as many fans speculated.

According to Kuami Eugene, leaving Lynx Entertainment was a smooth and respectful process. He stated that the decision to move on was mutual and done in good faith. “It wasn’t difficult exiting Lynx because I left on a very good note. There was a farewell party organized for me, and Richie gave me his blessings before I left,” he revealed.

The “Angela” hitmaker, who had been with Lynx Entertainment for several years, expressed deep appreciation for the support and opportunities the label offered him during his early years in the music industry. He emphasized that his time with Lynx laid the foundation for his success and helped him become the household name he is today.

“It has been exactly a year since I left Lynx Entertainment,” he said, adding that he now operates as an independent artiste. However, he noted that the transition didn’t leave him alone. Kuami Eugene disclosed that he has since built a strong support team in both Ghana and the United States to help manage his brand, production, and overall music career.

The singer’s revelation comes after months of public curiosity and rumors regarding the nature of his relationship with Lynx Entertainment. While some speculated on tension or contractual disputes, Eugene’s recent comments dispel those claims and highlight the maturity and professionalism that guided the separation.

Fans have applauded the singer for his transparency and the label for handling the exit with grace. Industry observers also commend both parties for setting an example of how such transitions can be managed without conflict.

Despite now working independently, Kuami Eugene remains one of Ghana’s most sought-after musical talents. With hits like “Wish Me Well,” “Open Gate,” and “Monica”, he continues to dominate airwaves and streaming platforms. His new team, he says, is focused on pushing his music to global audiences and building a sustainable brand beyond the borders of Ghana.

As Kuami Eugene embarks on this next chapter of his career, he is confident that the future holds greater opportunities. “This is just the beginning of a new journey, and I’m excited about what lies ahead,” he told listeners.
