FrimpongPresident and Founder of Save The Nation For Future Leaders, Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang, has praised Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu Ababio Nyamekese II for the punishment meted out to Paramount Chief of Bantama, Nana Baffour Awuah Amankwatia VI for diverting the course of the Subin river.
Nana Baffour Awuah Amankwatia VI allegedly sold lands around the Subin river, built shops for his personal gain and diverted the course of the river.
According to Mr. Apeakorang, Asantehene has shown good and superb leadership which all Ghanaian leaders could learn from.
“Save The Nation For Future Leaders supports Asantehene for maintaining law and order in Kumasi and Ghana at large,” Apeakorang said.
Recently, a video circulating on social media showed Nana Baffour Awuah Amankwatia VI and other subchiefs kneeling before the Asantehene to plead on behalf of Nana Baffour Awuah Amankwatia VI.
A meeting of the chiefs concluded that Nana Baffour Awuah Amankwatia VI acted in bad faith and that the appropriate punishment was destoolment of the said chief.
Apeakorang added that “we, Save the Nation For Future Leaders, are committed to a cleaner, greener and habitable Ghanaian ecosystem and that we will throw our weight behind every Ghanaian who uses their power in this regard.”
“Bantamahene should have known better,” Kwadwo Apeakorang added “that diverting river courses is a recipe for flooding and associated calamities.”
Kwadwo Atta Apeakorang stated that the Asantehene should be given the patronship mantle to put a stop to illegal mining and other activities perpetrated by leadership and individuals.
He added that galamsey has been a major burden government has been fighting but seems to be losing and that Asantehene has shown the way, Apeakorang said Otumfou Osei Tutu II should be given the power to deal with traditional rulers who indulge in activities for personal gains.
He described Otumfuo as the saviour for Africa because his Golden stool, commanded from the skies, is a symbol of divine authority.
“I am proud to be a Ghanaian to have a king who stands for justice and makes sure our culture is protected no matter the consequences.”
He therefore called on all Ghanaians to give Otumfuo the authority fight galamsey in the country.
