A man’s anonymous post on X (formerly Twitter) has stirred intense reactions after he disclosed a heartbreaking revelation involving his fiancée and her elder sister’s husband, just two weeks before their wedding.

In the post, the man shared that his pastor had urged him to inquire about his fiancée’s past relationship with her sister’s husband. Taking the advice, he confronted her, leading to an emotional confession.

The fiancée revealed that she had been sexually assaulted by her sister’s husband while living in their home. This traumatic experience, previously unknown to her fiancé, had occurred during her stay with the couple.

The man added that he had already told his fiancée that the wedding would no longer take place.

Despite her pleas, he fears that he would harbor resentment towards her if they proceeded with the marriage.

The man shared his full statement:

My wedding is two weeks away, but just yesterday, my pastor told me to ask my fiancée what’s between her and her elder sister’s husband. To my surprise, after several attempts, she admitted that he raped her when she was staying with them, and they both kept it a secret.”

He continued, “I couldn’t tell anyone since I heard this, and now she’s been crying uncontrollably. After telling her today that we should separate because I’ll resent her, she’s pleading for me to go through with the marriage. Please, have I made the right decision?”

The post has sparked widespread conversation online, with users expressing a range of emotions, from outrage at the alleged assailant to sympathy for the fiancée’s ordeal.

Below are some comments from social media users:

@waveemessiah: “Funny thing is …is wasn’t rape…lol she willingly agreed to it.. she just said it’s rape so you wouldn’t take harsh decisions that will hurt her. Should I shock u again? That thing.. her and the elder sister husband dey do am on a normal.. not once not twice not even thrice.”

@Ategba: “The pastor may know about it because they haven’t stopped and maybe he has tried to advise them but the advice fell on deaf ears. He just took a bold step to save the guy from both of them.”

@Jeb_Dee: “In summary even the elder sister marriage dey sidon on top 3. Legged table any small thing now e go scatter.”

@realuncletoyin: “One of the reasons why most women make their past, their past. You persuaded her and she confessed to you and you eventually used it against her. You did exactly what you had in mind but you want to hear from us…. My friend, it’s likely that it won’t be well with you o.”

@XboxUtd: “I can bet my left kidney that she wasn’t raped. Lol if e never happen to me I for dey believe this their “I was raped story” most especially if you met them when they were virgin. They are likely to bring in this rape storyline to cover their track.”
