AdubianewsGhanaian rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong, popularly known as Medikal, has opened up about a moment from his past where he was discouraged from chasing his dream of becoming a musician.
Speaking during an interview on Hitz FM’s Afternoon Rode show with Andy Dosty, Medikal revealed that a teacher once advised him against pursuing music, claiming it would lead to failure. The rapper, now widely known for his success and influence in Ghana’s music scene, described the comment as the worst advice he has ever received.
Despite the negative feedback, Medikal explained that he does consider advice from people but is selective about which ones he acts upon. He emphasized that not every piece of advice is worth following, especially if it contradicts one’s personal convictions.
For him, belief in oneself and unwavering determination are more powerful than external opinions. He credits his success to strong willpower and self-belief, which allowed him to rise above the discouragement he faced in his early years.
Today, Medikal stands as one of the most notable figures in Ghanaian rap, and his journey serves as motivation for aspiring artists who may also face similar doubts from authority figures or peers.
