Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako alias Chairman Wontumi has described Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka as a “circumstances” Member of Parliament (MP).
The Chairman prior to election 2016 vowed to deliver Asawase constituency to the New Patriotic Party(NPP) but failed and has since relaunch another bid for it in 2020
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Wontumi mentioned that although the NPP won the seat in Asawase, Muntaka used government machinery to rig the election.
He said the NDC Secretary in that Constituency was even arrested for printing ballot papers.
“We did win against Muntaka but he’s there as a circumstances MP. He knows definitely that we won the seat and they used government power that time, some of the Military people took some of the ballot papers, even his Secretary, the Police arrested him because we found him printing EC ballot papers and stuff so I went there and brought the police to arrest him so this is how I said he’s a circumstance MP”, he claimed.
