Richie Mensah, CEO of Lynx Entertainment and a renowned Ghanaian music producer, has shared insights into his early career journey and the challenges he faced pursuing music instead of a more traditional path like medicine.

In a recent interview on JoyPrime, Richie recounted how, after completing high school, many expected him to enroll in medical school. However, he convinced his mother to let him explore music for one year to see if it would work out.

She agreed, but this decision sparked backlash against her from people who believed she should have pushed Richie towards a noble profession, such as becoming a doctor.

Richie said, “When I started my journey at seventeen, everyone was shocked because they expected me to pursue medicine. I asked my mom for one year to try music, and during that time, I opened a studio. She witnessed the beginnings of what Lynx Entertainment is today. Despite that, many insulted her for letting me follow music instead of medicine.”

He further revealed that even after entering the music industry, critics tried to discourage him due to his young age and unconventional career choice. Nevertheless, Richie persevered and eventually released hit songs, proving the doubters wrong and establishing himself as a leading figure in Ghana’s music scene.
