Suspended Central Region Chairman for the National Democratic Congress(NDC) Bernard Allotey Jacobs has revealed that he now supports Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and not the NDC which is his mother party.
However, he insists that he will always be an NDC and can never switch camps to the New Patriotic Party(NPP)2 because he is a true and true social democrat.
He made this known in a conversation on Accra-based Asempa FM.
Allotey Jacobs said ” I have taken a decision and my decision is one and I will spell it out clearly. For now, I will support Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia.
I’m not a member of the NPP and I will never be a member of the NPP. I’m a social democrat and I will never be a member of the NPP but I support Nana Akufo-Addo and Bawumia,” he said.
He noted that when you go to other democracies around the world, there are independent minded people although they belong to certain political parties so his decision is not out of the way.
Allotey Jacobs was suspended from the NDC in 2020 for going contrary to the provisions of the political party’s constitution.
