Former Ghana’s Ambassador to India, His Excellency, Sam Pee Yalley has heartedly confirmed he will in any day kick against persons who claim Ghana is not ready to have a lady lead it.
According to him, Ghana is late in joining the race to have a lady lead it since countries who are underdeveloped as compared to Ghana have taken up this mantle.
“Indeed, no one can convince me any day that we can’t have a lady lead this nation. We are even late as a country to make this move,” he emphasized.
Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper discussion show, the former Ambassador affirmed he perfectly sides with former President John Dramani Mahama to elect a lady as his running mate, specifically Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.
However, he has disagreed with alleged reports by some party members that the former Education Minister is not known as far as the NDC is concerned and therefore cannot sell the party to excel in the upcoming elections.
“Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang is the best candidate to partner Mahama,” he said.
Sam Pee Yalley advised members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to stop dictating to the NDC on who becomes its running mate.
“It takes a coach to decide which player he will use to win a game. NPP cannot in anyway show us what is good for us,” he added.
Mahama Selects Prof Naana Opoku-Agyemang
Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and former President, John Dramani Mahama has selected Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang as his Running Mate for the 2020 Presidential elections.
The party’s National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi announced this following a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
He disclosed that Prof Opoku-Agyemang’s endorsement was by a unanimous decision of the party’s Council of Elders and the NEC.
“I can tell you that the Running Mate of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama for the 2020 general election is Professor Jane Naana Agyemang. That choice has been approved unanimously by the Council,” Sammy Gyamfi stated.
