A concerned Ghanaian has taken to social media to vent his frustration over the alarming rate of road accidents in the country, blaming President John Mahama for the persistent tragedy on the roads.

The road accidents in Ghana 2025 have seen a disturbing surge, with 7,289 road crashes recorded in just the first half of the year, resulting in 1,504 deaths and 1,301 pedestrian knockdowns, according to official data.

Reacting to the troubling statistics, the unnamed Facebook user posted a strongly worded message directed at the president, raising fears of a deeper cause behind the deadly trend.

“John Mahama, why every accident and killings? What sacrifices and pledges did you make for power? Ghanaians should be worried,” the post read.

The comment has sparked reactions online, with some users expressing similar concerns while others criticized the post as politically motivated.

The spike in road fatalities has become a national issue, with many citizens calling for urgent interventions such as stricter road safety enforcement, better infrastructure, and improved public transport systems.

While the government has yet to officially respond to the user’s post, the growing outcry on social media reflects widespread anxiety over road safety under the current administration.
