Second Lady Samira Bawumia has voiced her firm belief that her husband, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will secure victory in the 2028 general elections.
Addressing some party members, Samira stated, “We need somebody who will win us the next election, and I believe the one who can win us power in 2028 is Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.”
She noted that Dr. Bawumia had made a determined effort to break the eight in the 2024 elections despite facing significant challenges. According to her, he fought tirelessly but was not given the opportunity to assume the presidency.
Despite the setback, Samira expressed optimism about his political future, stressing her confidence that her husband’s next attempt in 2028 would be successful.
“He gave his all for the party and the country, and I am confident that in 2028, he will be victorious,” she added.
Her remarks come at a time when discussions within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are intensifying over the party’s future leadership and strategy ahead of the 2028 elections.
