The rivalry between Accra Hearts of Oak and Ashanti Kotoko is not new even to a day old baby in Ghana. So it is expected that they operate in parallel direction.

So how it would have become an incomprehensible shocker, if a staunch phobian became the President of the soul and spirit of the Ashanti golden  stool club Kotoko.

In the year 2015, it was highly publicised, that former – Black stars and Bayern Munich superstar Sammuel Osei Kuffour, was in the consideration book of His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to become Asante Kotoko President.

To every rumour, there’s always a half truth, so Sammy Kuffour on a live Metro TV interview, publicly confirmed the news and explained further that he had had a private meeting with Otumfuo, where he was assured to assume Kotoko new leader very soon.

The said confirmation from Sammy, prompted Bayern Munich football club, to release an acknowledgement statement showing their excitement over their legend to set to be appointed Kotoko President.

However, the supposed appointment was revoked. And it was traced back, Otumfuo was unhappy that  Sammy Osei Kuffour broke the  news before.

The aforementioned issue has been five years now and no attention placed on it again. But on Kessben Final Whistle Sports today, a mesmerising revelation was given by Ex- Black Stars and Kotoko goal- tender Osei Kwadwo, that his playmate and close friend Sammy Osei Kuffour is Staunch phobian.

He supported his claim that Sammy has been a phobian right from childhood and he would have chosen to play for Hearts ahead of any any in Ghana.

Quite sarcastically, Osei Kwadwo ended that his friend Sammy has some little affection for Kotoko but he is a staunch lover of the rainbow colours.

What’s unclear now, is how true phobian nearly became Kotoko President!
