Gospel musician Scott Evans has stated that he would rather sell plantain on the streets than switch to secular music. His comment comes as a bold declaration of faith and purpose in an industry where many artistes often feel pressured to adapt to mainstream trends.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the ‘Wanna Be Loved’ hitmaker said his main focus has always been to spread the word of God through his music. According to him, fame and commercial success will never take precedence over his divine calling as a gospel artiste.
Scott Evans explained that his mission is to touch lives spiritually, even if his songs reach only a few listeners. “If just one person listens to my music and turns to God, the heavens will rejoice for that one soul,” he said passionately during the interview.
He also revealed that he does not feel pressured to change his style or conform to public expectations. For him, staying true to his message is far more important than following popular trends that do not align with his values.
The gospel artiste concluded by reaffirming his commitment to using his music as a tool for inspiration, healing, and salvation. He noted that his purpose goes beyond entertainment, as every song he creates is meant to draw people closer to God.
