Ghanaian musician Showboy has opened up about his strained relationship with dancehall star Shatta Wale, revealing that he was once the artiste’s “favorite boy” before the infamous Biegya beef involving Stonebwoy and Criss Waddle created tension between them.
Speaking in an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Aluta FM, Showboy recounted how his support for Stonebwoy and Criss Waddle during their feud with Shatta Wale caused a rift that ended their once-close friendship.
He explained that Shatta Wale distanced himself from him after realizing he had sided with the other artistes. Despite this, Showboy maintained that he still holds deep respect for Shatta Wale and does not impose himself on him even when they meet.
“I still have high respect for Shatta Wale. Even if I see him, I don’t force myself on him,” he stated, noting that they occasionally communicate through mutual friends.
Showboy further reflected that if their bond had remained intact, Shatta Wale would have offered him support after his release from prison. He, however, expressed no bitterness, insisting that he continues to wish the Ayoo hitmaker well.
