Nigerian music icon Tiwa Savage is setting her sights beyond the stage, revealing ambitious plans to establish herself as a powerhouse in both the music and film industries. In a recent interview with Forbes Africa, the 45-year-old singer opened up about her vision of building an empire that cements her legacy alongside other self-made women worldwide.

Reflecting on her early years, Savage recalled how her passion for the arts started long before her rise to fame. “When I was in school, we had the usual subjects like math and English, but there were also electives like sports, drama, and music—I chose drama,” she shared. “Even back then, I knew I had a gift for acting. So, even as I pursued music, I always knew I would return to that field at some point.”

Having lived in Nigeria, the UK, and the United States—where she studied jazz—Savage credits her diverse background for shaping her unique musical style. “I can do a jazz record, a garage song, or an Afrobeats track, and it all feels authentic because I’ve lived these experiences,” she explained.

However, Savage is now looking beyond her artistry, declaring with confidence, “I want to go into my mogul era.” Her plans include launching initiatives to support the next generation of artists, with a particular focus on education. Among her goals is establishing a music school or scholarship program that nurtures young talent and equips them with the skills to succeed in the industry.

With her vast experience and global influence, Tiwa Savage is proving that her impact will extend far beyond music—ushering in a new chapter of leadership and empowerment in the entertainment world.
