FrimpongThe MP was part of the group of politicians who were planning to hold a parallel meeting in Mumias as the Building Bridges Initiative meeting was being held in Bukhungu Stadium.
Police, however, dispersed the politicians and their supporters away from Nabongo Grounds, which was the set venue for the meeting. Other key members were Matungu MP Justus Murunga, Kiminini MP Didmus Barasa, Webuye West MP Dan Wanyama, and former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale.
The politicians tried to speak to their supporters on two separate occasions in Ekero and Shibale but those plans were thwarted by officers who lobbed teargas canisters at them.
As they were escaping, Walukhe found his getaway vehicle in the form of a bicycle and rode away from the scene. While the bicycle wasn’t his, he was spotted taking turns in riding the bicycle.

Walukhe and his colleagues accused the police of the alleged disappearance of Mumias East MP Benjamin Washiali. They claimed that he was abducted hours before the rally.
Washiali, however, dismissed those reports and claimed that he was hiding from police who were pursuing him.
