A final-year student of Wa T.I Ahmadiyya Senior High School (Wa Amass) is battling for his life after a violent confrontation with a fellow student turned bloody on Tuesday night.
The victim, identified as Iddrisu Ibrahim, also known as Lincoln, was allegedly stabbed by his classmate Hafis, nicknamed Baayaawa, during a heated altercation reportedly sparked by a video recording incident.
Lincoln, a Year 3 Agricultural Science student from Bulenga, is said to have filmed Hafis, a Year 3 General Arts student from Bawku, without permission. When Hafis demanded the deletion of the video, Lincoln allegedly refused, prompting a verbal exchange that quickly spiraled into violence.
“He told Lincoln he’d stab him if he didn’t delete the video,” one student recounted. “Lincoln didn’t take it seriously and told him to go ahead if he was man enough.”
Eyewitnesses say Hafis responded by pulling out a knife and stabbing Lincoln in both the rib and stomach. Despite his injuries, Lincoln managed to walk from the hostel area towards the school library before collapsing.
“When Lincoln came out, the knife was still stuck in him. Some students removed it before rushing him to the hospital,” a female student who witnessed the scene shared.
Police were called to the campus after the stabbing triggered chaos among students, some of whom attempted to retaliate. Authorities quickly intervened, restoring calm and arresting Hafis, who is now in custody and assisting with investigations.
Lincoln is currently receiving treatment at the Wa Regional Hospital, where medical personnel describe his condition as critical but stable.
While school authorities have yet to release an official statement, police presence has been stepped up across campus to prevent any further escalation. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
