What most people regret at the end of their lives.

I was reading some articles on Medium when I saw that people are writing on this topic and I thought to write for myself. I found this article interesting because I have never been in touch with people who are counting last days of their life but thinking about their perspective, I wanted to write what all things would they regret when they are at the last stages of covering up their life.

I don’t know whether I will be right or wrong from my imagination but I wanted to share my thoughts on this topic. Based on my opinion, all the people live a completely different life than others, so everyone must be regretting different things. I will start with my family first and then cover this topic.

My grandfather had been working all the years so when he died, he regretted that he could spend some days with God at pilgrimages. In a sense, he wanted to travel to all the pilgrimages before the end of his life. My grandmother was a strong lady and she helped my father raise four children excluding him (total 5 children).

She was very much into hard-work after marriage but was fond of watching others get married. So, her last thought at the end of life would have been watching her grand-grand children married.

Based on the fact that everyone thinks differently, some more regrets of people for life are:

1) Some people think that they could have lived more years because they wanted to see some enemy die first. People are too jealous in family and society. Likewise, old people try to imitate their younger generation and build bitterness for others which cause them to think this way. They regret that their enemy dies first and then whatever happens to them they would gladly accept it.

2) Some people spend their life as dictators and till the end they are ruling their family on their own wishes. So, these people might think that people could start calling and phrasing them as God in family and nearby places. These people have many things to boast about. Their regret will be not being able to be called God and no boasting because their family hates them.

3) Some people do not listen to anyone and spend their lives living alone which happens in most cases and they are only thinking of listening to people’s talk before they die. These people live away from their children and the last thing that they regret is that the family could come together as it is a last wish for most people because fighting in homes becomes a natural scene after marriage. Their regret is living alone at the end of their lives.

4) Some people spent their whole life working for their family and raising their children with finest education. They always wanted the best for their children which they provided themselves. These people lose interest in life and start thinking that they could do nothing for society and want to live so that they can donate. These people are the most successful ones in their life who lived to give. Their regret is not being able to earn and give at the end of their lives.

5) People are living a life of an atheist in many parts of the world. They believe that God is present in every soul and live their life happily taking God’s name in every endeavour and fulfilling every demand on behalf of God but never got a chance to see God with their eyes. It is said that it’s impossible to see God with human eyes and you could not take such power and charm but still these people regret that they never saw God in whole life. Even if it is impossible to see God and people could die after this, their last days demand that they could fulfil their wish of seeing God as they are already dying. Their regret is that they waited so long to see God.

6) Some married couples are not able to live with each other for whole life and one of them die an early death. This is also a case which happens with many people. They regret living alone for entire life and wish they could die in their spouse’s hands and could get to heaven. They regret not being with the other half at the end of their lives.

7) Rich people live a luxury life. People who are rich have done many things in their life and they regret only being able to live a long life. These people die their usual death due to ailments. They might regret dying due to ailments and they could die some other way maybe, a plane crash.

8) People who have lived and done for the family might not regret anything at all. These are the lucky ones who do not have any regrets with their life and lived fully.

Conclusion: Life is long. Live the way you want it. There will be good deeds and there will be mistakes in your life. Always try to do as much as possible and give so that you can receive. Become someone who has no regrets from life and you will be the lucky one who will die happily and peacefully.
