Assertive Greater Accra Regional Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Kamil, has cue in his voice in support of the new voters register saying “Ghana Electoral Commission is independent and must be allowed to do his work”.
Electoral Commission decision to compile new voters register for December 2020 elections has received numerous resistance by fraction of people in the country.
Assertive Kamil, whose positive man-management style has saw nasara coordinators in Greater Accra region coast to their usual rhythm made his position known when quizzed on Marhaba FM morning show on Tuesday.
In his views he said “Electoral Commission are backed by laws as independent regulatory body enshrined by the Constitution to discharge their duties devoid of any political influence”
Kamil maintained that “the New Patriotic Party has been consistent on the need to compile new voters register even in opposition and that position of compiling new voter register stands still”.
He again added “the inconsistency of our political opponent especially the hypocrisy of John Dramani Mahama who once said, EC is independent not be interfered by any political party. In Mahama recent comment, activities of the EC are to be blamed and held responsible for any chaos. This is totally diabolical and cannot be trusted with power again.
In his conclusion, dogged Kamil, urged all Zongo communities to make crass choice ahead of the December elections and stay clean from the NDC.
“This is a wake up call for the inner-city and Zongo communities who have supported NDC since and have never benefited from any of their policies to assuage their sufferings but use and discard them after elections”.
