10 Characteristics of a Good Man to Look For. 46

The person you’re dating can seem to be a terrific catch.

When it comes to discovering real love, you want to make sure he’s a truly nice guy who exhibits specific personality traits and features that correspond well with your requirements and your idea of a good man.

So how can you be certain that he has all of the characteristics of a decent man?

Finding a high-quality guy — that is, one who exhibits more than just fundamental human attributes like decent manners, empathy, and respect — has become difficult in Western society.

In a nutshell, the typical relational exchange has broken down during the last several decades. Men and women used to have something that the other genuinely required.

Men required sex access. Women need resource access. Men couldn’t have consistent sex access unless they had resources to contribute, so they worked hard to get them. The union of men and women was a wonderful arrangement that (usually) benefited both parties…

In some aspects, sexual liberty is a wonderful thing. However, since women don’t demand anything in exchange for access, it may turn guys into jerks… So many ladies seem to have their act together these days. However, many guys do not.

But just because our society has evolved doesn’t imply there aren’t any nice guys left. Men with these 10 characteristics are suitable candidates for marriage. And I can assure you that they exist!

10 Characteristics of a Good Man

1. A mature guy is a decent man.

You can rapidly identify a guy’s emotional maturity by watching how he responds to circumstances and treats others around him.

In a restaurant, for example, how does the waiter respond when he takes a little longer than expected to come to your table? Does he handle it well, or does he lose his cool? When an order is messed up, does he yell at the server?

Even if he’s on his best behavior, it’s difficult to conceal long-standing tendencies. Whether you pay close attention to him, you will be able to tell if you are on the correct track.

2. He has a goal.

Every guy needs a goal. Men seldom discover their purpose in a relationship or a family. As he attempts to provide for his family and friends, the connection might drive his purpose, but it is not the source of his purpose.

That may be difficult for women to accept, but it is real. A man’s purpose is frequently found in his employment and how he contributes to the world.

Look for his purpose in how he talks about his job and services early in the relationship. Is he enthusiastic about his work? Is he pursuing any objectives? Is he looking forward to going to work?

This does not imply that he must be an entrepreneur or a six-figure earner. You may work a 9–5 job and be enthusiastic about what you do and the impact you make in the lives of others.

3. A decent guy is approachable.

The quality of his friendships and the guys he is friends with may reveal a lot about a guy’s character attributes.

Are his peers mature? Do they share your ideas and exhibit the characteristics of decent men? Is he able to sustain friendships over time?

4. He’s emotionally open.

Because their relationships overlap, many men remain emotionally unavailable. The term “single” does not necessarily imply “available.”

Keep an eye out to see whether he still has contact with his ex. Or if he is so preoccupied with his profession that he has no time for anybody else. If any of these statements are true, he will ultimately harm you since he isn’t ready for a long-term relationship and isn’t boyfriend material.

5. A decent guy is straightforward.

Many men believe that if they approach dating with a carefree attitude, women will fall in love with them. A relationship with a gamer, on the other hand, will end in tears.

A good guy should be able to look you in the eyes and communicate himself. Anything less, and he is weak, and you should not accept it.

6. He is kind.

Men who are ready for good partnerships have often progressed through many stages of their life. Specifically, their “fun and adventure” and “get paid” phases.

This is followed by kindness. It shows that his life isn’t all about him, which is very crucial when raising a family.

7. He is truthful.

Men don’t always do the right thing, and they don’t always know what the right thing is. You can cope with a person as long as he’s honest about it.

If he hides anything, it might destroy trust and have a detrimental influence on his life and the lives of others around him.

8. A decent guy is honest.

Integrity is defined as the trait of being truthful and having strong moral beliefs.

In practice, a guy of integrity keeps his promise. He follows through on his commitments and demonstrates his purpose via his actions. He not only talks the talk, but he also walks the walk.

You can rely on a guy of integrity to follow through and contribute positively to your relationship. His moral compass governs his decisions, and he will always do the right thing in his life and by you.

When you first meet a guy, look for honesty in the little things. Is he reliable? Does he call when he says he will? Is he always late for dates? Is he trustworthy in his work? If he can’t demonstrate integrity in the small things, he’ll struggle to show it when it truly counts.

9. He is not frightened of committing.

When most women hear the word commitment, they envision a devoted and monogamous relationship. When it comes to commitment, it is simply the tip of the iceberg.

Integrity and purpose are fueled by commitment. You must be dedicated to developing, learning, and having the resources necessary to live your mission. You can’t be dedicated and can be in a relationship if you’re not committed to fulfilling your mission or having integrity.

10. He perseveres.

Perseverance is an important attribute to seek for since life isn’t always kind to you, and you want to know that your guy can endure when things got tough.

How does he cope with hardship and life challenges? Does he get back up after being struck down? When he fails, does he recommit to his goal? Or does he let the bad times and his worries bring him down?

Through the difficult times, his perseverance will keep him going and recommitting to and working on your relationship.

So, are there any nice guys remaining with these qualities?
There is no such thing as the ideal man, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find the right guy for you.

That is not to imply it will be simple. Finding that guy who is a best friend, lover, and partner — and who doesn’t have any of your deal breakers — may be one of the most difficult things in the world.

Many women want to end the hunt. Unfortunately, finding a nice person requires a lot of time, preparation, and prospecting.

The payoff is virtually never quick, but if you are constant and straightforward, you will meet a wonderful man deserving of your love!
