The maverick legislator and business mogul, Honourable Kennedy Agyapong has added his voice to what is going on social media these days. One social media user with the name Twene Jonas has been abusing the use of social media as he adds insults to whatever word he brings out. This has caught the attention of Kennedy Agyapong and has made him to wade into the issue.
According to him, the rate at which Ghanaians are using social media is not appealing and very appalling. He revealed that, the whites use social media positively to make enough money but that is not the case of Ghanaians. All what we do on social media is to come and insult the elders. He again used the opportunity to educate the youth to think positively and use the media properly to impact others.
He cited an example of how a Ghanaian lady who studied law at the University of Pennsylvania put the degree aside and started selling baskets online. He said the lady went to the northern region and recruited people to weave the baskets. There was shortage to the extent that she has to import some from China and sell. Hon. Kennedy said the lady has a warehouse in Amazon. He continued by saying, that is what the youth have to emulate and stop the insults and other unnecessary things on the social media.
The member of Parliament said, blacks are using social media to destroy others. He reiterated that, when Kelvin Taylor was insulting him, his father didn’t say anything but when he started attacking the father, he brought people to him to apologise. A lot have been said by the Honourable member of Parliament on how social media must be patronised and I think it is a good thing Ghanaians must follow:
