Directed and produced by the celebrated Ghanaian filmmaker Chris Attoh, NINE brings together a dynamic cast of performers from Ghana, South Africa, Nigeria, and the United States, showcasing the collaborative potential of international cinema.
Co-written by Briana Cole and Erica Joy, NINE delves into the dark and suspenseful world of enigmatic homicides in Ghana. Set against the backdrop of a full moon, the story follows a forensic expert and an American homicide detective as they unravel a string of witchcraft-related killings targeting young women. Driven by grief over his daughter’s murder, the detective’s quest leads him to Africa, where he collaborates with a group of assassins to uncover a chilling conspiracy.
NINE boasts an impressive lineup of international and African talent:
They are joined by prominent Ghanaian actors including Fred Amugi, Juliet Ibrahim, Adjetey Anang, Zynnel Zuh, Sika Osei, Gideon Kojo Boakye, and Pascal Aka. Nigerian actress Ijeoma Grace Agu and talented Ghanaian newcomer Darlyn Adu-Gyamfi round out the cast.
Speaking at a press screening on Monday, November 25, at the Silverbird Cinema, Chris Attoh highlighted the film’s broader significance for the industry. “NINE is not just about creating a compelling movie; it’s about building bridges within the industry.
