Stephen Alajemba Sparks Controversy, Advocates for Polygamy Over Monogamy

Veteran Nollywood actor Stephen Alajemba, widely recognized for his role as Uwaezuoke, has stirred up a heated debate by advocating for polygamy as a safer and more righteous marital arrangement than monogamy.

In a recent interview with Ugwumba TV, the actor claimed that marrying only one or two wives is both a sin and a risk to a man’s life. His remarks have sparked mixed reactions among fans and critics alike, with many questioning the rationale behind his assertions.

Alajemba argued that a man who marries only one wife exposes himself to significant risks, suggesting that such a relationship leaves the man vulnerable to harm. “If you marry one wife, your life is at risk,” he stated, drawing a controversial link between monogamy and personal safety.

He further claimed that having two wives only increases the danger, alleging that they might conspire against the man. “If you marry two wives, they will conspire to poison you,” he said, reinforcing his belief that this dynamic fosters conflict and mistrust.

The actor proposed polygamy as a safer and more harmonious alternative, suggesting that having three or more wives reduces tension among the women and ensures the man’s safety. “If you marry three or more wives, they will all be on their own, and you will only be providing for them. You will be taking turns with their meals and bedrooms,” Alajemba explained.

He framed his perspective as a practical solution, asserting that polygamy is free from sin and provides a structure that keeps the husband’s well-being intact.
