Entertainment pundit David Adjei Frimpong, known in showbiz circles as MC Portfolio, has stirred conversation with a bold claim, asserting that Ghanaian highlife legend Daddy Lumba surpasses even American pop icon Michael Jackson in musical greatness.
Speaking passionately, MC Portfolio described Daddy Lumba as the “Greatest of All Time,” citing the unmatched influence the highlife icon continues to exert on Ghana’s music industry. He argued that while older musicians often chase after younger trends, it is the new generation of artists who are now drawing inspiration from Lumba’s rich musical legacy.
He emphasized that Daddy Lumba stands as Ghana’s biggest musical export, a figure whose name deserves global recognition and whose contribution to the industry must not go uncelebrated. “He should be eulogized and honored properly,” he stated.
Taking it a step further, MC Portfolio appealed to the government to prepare for a state-assisted burial in Kumasi when the time comes, referring to the city as the center of funeral tourism in Ghana and a fitting place to pay final respects to a national treasure.
His comments have sparked widespread debate, with many music lovers both at home and abroad weighing in on the comparison between the two titans from vastly different musical worlds.
