My next govt’ll put Ghanaian business at center of economic growth – Mahama 49

Former President John Dramani Mahama has vowed to put Ghanaian businesses at the center of Ghana’s economic growth in his next term.

To achieve that, he said his government will create that supportive environment and opportunities for the creation, growth, and expansion of new and existing businesses.

“We’ll deliberately ensure that the indigenous Ghanaian businesses benefit fully and significantly from all projects funded by the government of Ghana,” the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stated Wednesday at a program dubbed Accra Speaks: an evening with John Dramani Mahama.

He added: “In our next government God willing January next year we will provide the most supportive environment of businesses, particularly Ghanaian owned businesses. We shall put Ghanaian businesses at the center of economic growth because it is only when Ghanaian businesses thrive that the economy can grow and create prosperities for our citizens.”

According to Mahama, making Ghanaian businesses at the center of the country’s economy is very critical in stopping the huge capital outflows from the country in order “to create a multiplier effect that for an accelerated economic takeoff.”

“We started it before and we’ll make even do better,” he said.
