Diella TekuA tragic fire engulfed a residence in Axim-Brewie, a community in the Nzema East Municipality of Ghana’s Western Region, at dawn on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. The blaze claimed the lives of five children, aged between five and ten years, and left three others with injuries.
The incident, which also caused extensive property damage estimated at several thousand Ghana Cedis, has left the community in mourning. Emergency responders are yet to confirm the identities of the deceased, and the injured are currently receiving medical treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which has sparked concerns about safety and preparedness in the area. Local leaders have called for support for the affected families, as residents rally to provide assistance in the wake of the tragedy.
