Two Arrested with 11 Large Sacks of Suspected Narcotics At Ayi Mensah

A significant drug bust took place at Ayi Mensah in the Greater Accra Region, where two men, Mathew Narkotey and Augustine Teye, were arrested with 11 large compressed sacks of a substance suspected to be narcotics.

The arrests were made on 7th June 2025 by officers from the National Operations Department (NOD) during a routine patrol.

The suspects were found with the narcotics hidden in a Mazda pick-up truck bearing registration number GT 3490-P. Both the vehicle and the suspected drugs have been impounded and secured at the Joint Operations Centre for further investigation.

Currently, the suspects are in custody and assisting police investigations, while authorities continue to search for a third suspect, Martey, who is believed to be the intended recipient of the drug consignment.

The police have reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking through intelligence-led operations and thorough patrols.
